Oct 11, 2013. Don't be afraid to adjust the carb with more than just your idle-air screw! The opening line says it all, right? Install a new carb or one that you just found at a local swap meet Each jet size flows about 2.5% difference. A well tuned carbureted engine should run 15.5 to 16 AFR on the highway no problem. While 14.7 or "stoich" is theoretically perfect leaner mixtures are used for best highway (low load) economy. Under load/power far richer fuel mixtures are required.
Either way, I put one on the collector of my header, but you can put one on each side and either use 2 gauges, or hook up a switch to toggle back and forth. Correct. Even Autometer's instructions suggest using 2 O2 sensors and a toggle switch if you want to measure both sides.
We dive into the relationship between Air-fuel ratio and performance, fuel economy and emissions. This gives us an insight about how fuel map values are sele
This may have been posted about before, but I have a question. I just put the JLT Super Big Air Cold Air Intake on my 2014 GT 500 and installed a BAMA custom tune. What should the Air/Fuel Ratio be running at idle and how does that compare to a stock set up? The gauge on the car is showing 13.8 to 14 at idle. Thanks a lot. How to adjust an air flow meter spring wheel. Go counter clockwise for richer and clockwise for leaner. Most ARMs cone from the factory set very.lean. The Bo Tuning help, Air fuel ratio readings. at idle i'm sitting at 11.8:1 to 12.1:1 low speed driving is at around 12 to 12.5:1, mid range seems to be about 12.8 to 13.2:1, and and wide oen it's at 11.5 to 12.2:1, upon decel is where it gets lean (fully closed throttle) pretty much goes right out of scale depending on how fast i'm going. just Yes; only passes if the air/fuel ratio is between 14.05 and 16.0. The carburator [ sic] (: Kaasutin) is a part for the Satsuma which can be found in the garage at home. It is attached to the cylinder head with 4x8mm bolts. The stock carburator has a separate airfilter that is attached with 2x6mm bolts. The purpose of a carburator is to mix air
I just thought I'd post about my experience on fiddling. I found it surprising that going from around 13.8:1 (not even across the board) to 13.2:1 makes the bike TOTALLY different. Maybe it was that or resetting the fuel offsets, or a combination of several things.
